In 2016, nearly 100 million eligible Americans did not cast a vote for president, representing 43% of the eligible voting-age population.

THE PROBLEM:

The lack of interest in civic engagement. Many non-voters suffer from a lack of faith in the election system and have serious doubts about the impact of their own votes.

RESEARCH SET UP:

IDEATION:

After field research, co-designed workshop, synthesis on quantitative survey results and interviews, we found out that the core of the problem starts from the lack of civic-engagement education at younger age.

How might we shift behavior from the beginning?

Our solution aim to encourage future voters to have a voice confidently when they turn 18.

STORYBOARD:

Menta is a mentorship-based community that helps promote civic-engagement at a young age. Through the platform, future voters can nurture the interests in a safe, inspirational and reliable way.
